Pirates in Paradise 2008 - Key West, Fl
Extra Page: The Third Battle
The third battle was with the Pirates in the fort, their cannon all
disorganized and the British and
the Schooner Wolf outside trying to take them.
I am unclear about which side the Wolf was on in this particular
Battle.

Above left: The Schooner Wolf and the British prepare to re-take the
fort. I think the Schooner Wolf is preparing to re-take the fort. Maybe
it's with the pirates. Maybe it just happened to be floating by and
thought it would fire its cannon. Above right: Hey, you guys! You're facing
the wrong way! The fort is behind you! Where the cannon is pointed! Below
left: The Archangels laugh in the face of danger! From left: M.A. d'Dogge,
Captain Sterling, Anna Meriwether & Michael Bagley. (They think they look like
the four horsemen of the apocalypse. I think they look like four people
the DMV should reconsider the granting of licenses to. Except Anna, who does not
have a license yet.) Below right: the British facing the
right way, preparing to assault the fort.

Above: the British attack the fort. Left: firing the cannon. (Note how
simple and effective their flag holder is? None of the nonsense the
Pirates had in the field with their flag bearers in the First
Battle and the Second
Battle!) Above right: Michael Souris and Captain Sterling
firing their weapons at the fort. Below left: Realizing they are
being fired upon, Spike tries to rouse the disorganized pirates, but for
some odd reason they have pointed their cannon in various wrong directions
and won't be roused. Below right: So Iron Nigel, who took the Viceroy's
accoutrements in the Taking
of the Fort, retrieves the viceroy to help Spike restore order.

Above: having forgiven (or forgotten) that Iron Nigel took his stuff, the
Viceroy's vanity is restored with his accoutrements while Spike and Nigel
look on. (But not Chrispy.) Below left: The Viceroy asking, "Am I
working alone here?" as the pirates actually man their guns.
Below center: the small arms pirates approach the wall and...hey! Who gave Stynky a gun?
That's Deadeye, Fayma, Stynky (!) and Patrick Hand. Below right: the small
arms folks shoot at the British and...wait! He's still
got a gun?! Are you guys mad?! From left: Captain Jim, Stynky (!!) and Fayma
Callahan.

Above left: The 3rd battle pirate cannon crews - in front, the Bone Island
Crew 1, then the All Girls Cannon
Crew, followed by M.A. d'Dogge's Crew
and finally the Bone Island Crew 2. Above center: Madam Grace awaiting the
order to fire. Above right: the Bone Island Crew 1 fires the mortar. Below: Meanwhile, the Bone Island Crew, Captain Spike, Scarlett Jai and
Iron Nigel, prepare a surprise for the British - an attack from the
field.

Above left: The British, most not surviving the
cannon blast, are all dead from the Bone Island
assault. (The flag is a nice touch.) Above right: the
inevitable looting of the bodies by the pirates. (In this case I it's
Bruce looting Michael Bagley.) Below: Mark the canoneer plays dead.
(For some reason I think this is a funny picture. This may say more about
me than the picture.)

At left: Iron Nigel, "I hope you guys don't think I'm
cleaning this mess up!" At right: After taking the British Flag for some
odd reason - privilege of the victors? - Nigel discovers a British
survivor.
Below: A gruesome sequence of photos. Iron Nigel,
being such a kind-hearted pirate of a guy,
proceeds to deal ruthlessly with one poor wounded British sod by soundly beating
him with a cudgel. Note that some of the remaining British are just
standing around in the background watching. With friends like
that, do you really need pirates at all?
